Los Angeles Delays Medical Marijuana Ordinance

The Los Angeles City Council delayed the vote on a new ordinance that would severly restrict the number of new medical marijuana dispensaries allowed and closed hundreds of extisting medical cannabis clubs. Planning officials will return with maps showing the actual number of dispensaries that would be closed under the new ordinance. A vote on the new Medical Marijuana ordinance may take place in January.

DEA Arrests Dispensary Owner

First DEA arrest at a medical marijuana dispensary since the Obama administration called for less focus on dispensaries that are complying with state laws. The owner was free on bond from a previous charge of 'conspiracy to distribute marijuana' and was arrested when he tried to open two new dispensaries.

Sounds like a terrible idea doesn't it? Aren't we supposed to keep kids off drugs?

There is an interesting article posted on MSN that will make you re-think your unchallenged notions on medical marijuana for kids. For certain cases, children with extreme behavior and pain issues such as in this article, medical marijuana is the perfect solution. The article is well written, and really makes a valid case for changing our attitudes on just what medical marijuana can do. I read the headline myself, "Why I give my 9-year old Pot" and I have to admit, my first thoughts were WTF? This soon changed as I read the article.
